While watching the Objectified documentary, the object shown in B-roll with Karim Rashid (a designer in New York) being interviewed piqued my interest with its interesting shape and colours (timecode 00:44:08). With further inspection, the object appears to be a circle-shaped camera by Canon (Ixus Concept) and plays on the idea of the body being round rather than boxed shaped. I found this most interesting in regards to the documentary that they cover the idea of everything included on an object should be easy to understand their purpose and with this camera being a different shape and colour, you begin to rethink if the "industry standard' really is the best model for an object or if we the consumers are more drawn to an object based on its familiarity. Its quirky design looked more challenging to recreate due to all its rounded planes and was fun to imagine what it might feel like in your hands/look like if you were to take it apart.
